A New Adventure
My husband and I were married in July of 2021, and it seems that life has been at full speed ever since. Just months after our wedding, we were packing up our first home in St. Louis, MO, and relocating to his home state of Ohio for a job opportunity with his company.
We have spent the past two months settling into our cozy little cottage here in Findlay, Ohio. It’s slowly beginning to feel like a home—our home. Relocating in the winter isn’t the easiest, especially rolling into the third year of a pandemic. But we have begun meeting neighbors on our quaint little street, and making some wonderfully unexpected connections along the way.
As chance would have it, one of our immediate neighbors is an artist with big energy and such a fun personality. After an invite to tour her studio space and and an introduction to another locally based artist, I was thrilled to discover that Findlay has quite the thriving art community.
Many pieces have fallen into place that have lead my husband and I to decide that now is the time—time for me to be brave and pursue art professionally. It’s a scary decision to take a path that isn’t the steady 9-5 job that I’ve always known, but we are embracing this pursuit together. I am thankful for such a supportive husband that is arguably my biggest fan—and certainly my most entertaining muse!
I have always had the support and encouragement from the wonderful people in my life to get out there and make a living with my art. I can hear many of you scolding me now…‘it’s about time!’ I am so grateful for your support over the years, and especially today.
New town, new house, new career. I’m a full time artist!
